CHAIRMAN & DEPUTY
Chairman's Message
It is my great pleasure to share my thought here as the newly appointed Chairman of SWG Energy Group (Independent Non-Executive Director of SWG Energy Sdn Bhd). I am excited about the journey ahead as we collectively shape the path of the Group. As we embark on this journey, I would like to highlight two pivotal pillars - sustainability and enhanced corporate governance that will serve as a compass for our pursuits.
Our Purpose
The Group’s overarching goal is to accelerate the creation of a sustainable future of energy through the embodiment of innovation, collaboration, integrity and optimisation. In addition to being responsible for the environment and the communities served by the group, the Group strives to pave the way by developing innovative solutions to address the evolving demands of energy. As Chairman, I assure that the Group is fully committed to the pursuit of this noble mission.

Sustainability as a Strategic Imperative
In view of the global demand for sustainable business practices, I am pleased to learn that the Group’s strategic initiatives will place sustainability at the core. This way, the Group’s commitment to sustainability shall extend beyond mere adherence to regulations; it will shape the decision-making and influence her actions, as the Group recognises the criticality of generating positive social outcomes and mitigating direct and indirect environmental impact. The Group will be actively and continuously evaluating her business practices and identification of areas where she can employ renewable energy and energy-efficient products. As the world transitions to a low-carbon economy, the Group shall further her presence in the renewable energy sector through electric vehicle (EV) chargers, solar (PV) panels, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) market and new energy – hydrogen market.

Hydrogen as the Future
Aligned with the forward-thinking direction of the Sarawak government, we are presented with the opportunity to contribute to the ambitious goals, specifically with regard to hydrogen as an environmentally sustainable and new energy resource. We are well-positioned to lead the way in pioneering innovations and practical implementations within the hydrogen industry, as our dedication to sustainability harmonises with the government’s vision. In response to Government’s call to action, the Group is enthusiastic in exploring ways to accelerate the development of greener downstream products and will advocate, amongst others, through hydrogen pilot projects within Malaysia, especially Sarawak.

Enhanced Corporate Governance
Recognising that sustainable business practices go hand in hand with robust corporate governance, the Group will require to prioritise a refinement of the existing risk management and compliance practices. Strengthening her governance practices to ensure that the Group will operate with the highest levels of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct fostering informed decisionmaking. By doing so, the Group not only meets regulatory requirements but also acquire trust and confidence of her stakeholders. In striving towards enhanced corporate governance, the Group will be reviewing and updating her policies and procedures to ensure its conformity with best practices in the industry. This shall include regular assessments, transparent reporting mechanisms, and ensuring that her governance reinforce the resilience of its operations.

Collaboration and Empowerment
Achieving these ambitious objectives requires collaboration and engagement from each member of the organisation. Together, we will navigate these exciting changes and work towards a future where SWG Energy Group not only meets but transcends expectations in terms of sustainability, innovation, and corporate responsibility. Thank you for the dedication and commitment from our team members. I am honoured to lead SWG Energy Group into this new era, and I look forward to the great things we will accomplish together.
